Thoughts on Singapore football Part 1

Well, am writing this short article today to express my thoughts on Singapore football, especially the national team.
As most of you may know, Singapore just beat Malaysia with an aggregate score of 6-4 in the second round of the 2014 World Cup Qualifying. FYI, the first leg was played at home, at the Jalan Besar Stadium and it ended 5-3 and the second leg, played in front of a capacity crowd of 85,000, finished 1-1.
I have to say it was a pretty impressive performance from the Singapore Lions, after a disastrous time at the AFF Suzuki Cup in 2010, where they crashed out very early in the competition. A revamp of the squad, new players being called in for this Causeway Derby, was the main cause of the improvement, in my opinion. An example would be Safuwan Baharudin, plying his trade in the S-League for Courts Young Lions. He was a rock in defence alongside the supposedly-reliable Daniel Bennett, who had a torrid time over the two legs.
Moving to the main focus of this article today- my thoughts on Singapore football. Yes, there might be a revamp of the squad, BUT the players who were called up were rather predictable. The likes of Hassan Sunny, Lionel Lewis as well as Daniel Bennett. Well, have to agree they form the spine or core of the Lions' team. However, my thoughts was that, shouldn't Raddy have chosen someone else instead of Bennett? Yes, he's experienced and he's a good leader. However, after the torrid time he had over the legs, marking Safee Sali, shouldn't that have made Raddy consider the options available to him? I've to agree that Raddy is a smart tactician, but with him at helm, especially with that strict approach he has in player selection, it'd eventually cause the Singapore team to falter at the big stage, because of his strict and stubborn approach. In part 2, I'll talk more about the criticisms I have for Raddy as well as some of the national team players. Stay tuned!

Life just sucks

Okay, so I am bloggin'. I'm actually at the polyclinic waiting for my turn. Fell sick, sigh.
How's life? Oh it sucks. School sucks, everything sucks. I have to do RJ and presentation every single day. Know how frustrating that can be? VERY! I'm fine with RJ actually, but the thought of doin presentations everyday just turns me off. Whoever said poly was slack should go and die right now. It is fuckin stressful, to the extent I feel like giving up. But somehow something tells me I shouldn't sigh..
I think I shall end it here.

First day of school

So yesterday was my first day of school. It was kinda fun but tiring at the same time. My very first module was Organisational Behaviour, had no idea what that was. Class was okay I guess. It was the RJ and quiz which turned me off. I had no idea what to write for my RJ so it was rather short, and the quiz was pretty challenging. After completing our RJs, we went to chill at Clementi Macs cuz Durga was meeting her friend to pass her something. Oh gosh, I miss Clementi. After all, it was my 'territory' for 5 years. So I guess it was normal to feel that way.

Alright It's the second day of school and I'm going to prepare to go to school now. So cya around!

FOP, Freshmen Orientation Programme, was kinda fun. I made some new friends, and few of them are gonna be my coursemates or classmates for the first year. Lol, i hope i don't lose my old friends. Hope we'll still stay in touch. *fingers crossed*

Guess that's all for today, nothing to write about.

The Script concert, April 12th

Okay, so on 12th April 2011, I attended The Script Live in Singapore concert. It was a blast! Attached along with this post are two photographs, one taken by The Script and the other would be the advertisement poster for the concert.

Let me start off by telling how the pre-concert events went. Before i headed out, it was raining really heavily and it almost stopped me from attending the concert. However, it subsided at around 6.15. Hence, i decided to attend it. I took train from Lakeside to Dhoby Ghaut MRT and it took about an hour, but it was worth it. As i wasn't very familiar with the place, i took a little while to familiarise the surroundings. As i was doing so, i bumped into two friendly Malaysians, who were waiting for their friends to pass them their tickets. They actually borrowed my phone to call their friend teehee. When their friends arrived and passed them their tickets, we proceeded to go up to Fort Canning.

When we reached there, it was super crowded, and the queue resembled a snake. The three of us then decided to take some photos to pass time. After about 30 mins, we finally got into the venue. Gah, it was really muddy! This meant my new pair of converse and jeans were stained, damn. Ah, oh wells. At the start, we were at the side, but slowly pushed and made our way more to the center, where the view was better haha. Oh my gawd, The Script were awesome! They sang songs like Nothing and If You Ever Come Back. When they didn't perform Breakeven, everyone was like shouting and screaming, "Breakeven, Breakeven!!!!" After 3 mins, they came out from backstage and performed it, woots! I guess that's all for The Script concert.

The Script are awesome :>

Okay, now post-concert. Well, i saw a few ex-new towners and i saw someone whom i didn't want to see. That person was Wee Lin. She was with some guy, and even though i wanted to say hi, i didn't eventually. Amy said it was a good start, hurhurhur. We then went to the toilet at Park Mall to TRY clean our shoes, but to no avail. It was VERY DIRTY. Oh wells, we left Park Mall at about 10.45. Upon reaching the nearest bus stop, i took 14 back to Clementi. From there, i took it to Dover before I took a train to Lakeside. I reached home at about 22.40, but it was worth it for The Script. You guys are awesome! Come back another time! Singapore will welcome you! :>

I guess that's the end of my blog post, typed a lot. There's FOP tomorrow, starting at 9, gosh, so gotta hit the sack real soon. Really tired, goodnight people! :>
